Some of the sweetest memories of Lunar New Year are the ones we don’t realize we’re making. As adults, we often overlooked Lunar New Year as a formality or an old style celebration . Little did we know, those little moments we had when we were younger often became sweet memories that lingered. Tiny footsteps echoing through grandparents’ homes. The nostalgic smells of home-cook foods. The colorful home decorations. The familiar noises of greetings, gossips, and sometimes the old jokes that have been told over and over again. The excitement of being together, sharing laughters, while celebrating traditions. Where Lunar New Year is a symbol of joy, togetherness and welcoming all the good things ahead.
Xiao Hong Xin 小红心, translated as Little Red Heart — our Lunar New Year collection name is inspired by childhood memories. Which full of innocence, hope, and a heart that finds joy in the smallest things. A little red heart is more than a symbol of celebration. It carries wishes for happiness, kindness, good fortune, and the hope of a beautiful new beginning.
When we began creating this collection, we found ourselves thinking less about trend and more about memories. We thought a lot about lovely pretty details, that when they look back, they remember how it made them feel. Perhaps that’s what clothing meant to do. It supposed to make children feel magical. That one day, long after celebrations have ended, seasons changed, year passed, these little dresses will still carry the memories about the warmth of home, the good old days, the joy and laughter once was shared and they good time well-spent with people we love.
